Visit To A Small Planet opens March 25th and runs through April 4th
If a visitor from another galaxy happened to land on earth to observe the United States firsthand, what kind of impression would the country make on a complete stranger to this human race?
This is the question posed in Gore Vidal’s Visit to a Small Planet. Originally presented as a television play in 1957, the satirical play follows the exploits of Kreton, an alien who lands on Earth, hoping to catch a glimpse of the American Civil War only to find that “something went wrong with the machine”; he has landed in Manassas, Virginia in 1958, outside of the Spelding family’s home. Upon learning that it is not 1861, Kreton nevertheless decides to stay and observe human behavior: “You are my hobby,” he tells the Speldings, “and I am going native.”
Fun Fact -- Visit to a Small Planet is the first play to be produced at Cultural Park Theater, so we thought it fitting that it makes an appearance in our 58th Season!

Cultural Park Theater is dedicated to providing a safe environment for our patrons and volunteers. We'd like to present a quick video, filmed on our opening night of The Owl and The Pussycat, that walks you through all the procedures and processes we have in place! (You'll even get to meet the cast and crew!)
We are complying with the restrictions regarding seating capacity and have reduced our ticket sales to just 71 seats per performance. Seating in the theater has been reconfigured to allow groups to sit together and still remain socially distanced from another individual or group. Any seat with a white sign on it cannot be used.
